Price drop on high performance drives

ARS-2000-SE
The new ARS2000-SE range with Ethernet and USB connectivity, Safe-torque-off and four times peak current.

Our German supplier, Metronix, has launched a new range of drives that cuts costs to customers, typically by up to 20%. Metronix have achieved this by cutting out features that are not needed in a lot of applications. Despite this the new ARS 2000-SE range retains all the high performance benefits of the existing ARS 2000 series and even adds a few new ones.

The new drives have a high peak current capability of four times the continuous output rating - up to twice that of many similar drives - allowing the speed of moves and the throughput of machines to be increased by 17-25%. This is also a very useful feature for applications with intermittent high acceleration rates such as on linear motors. Metronix tell us that in tests the drives increase automation productivity by 5-7% in typical continuous processing applications.

The SE range features a fully functional EtherNET port for use during set-up and commissioning, as well as for full functional control of the servo drives. In addition you get the safety circuit STO (safe-torque-off) certified to Cat 4/PLe, the maximum rating possible for single-axis safety in this category.

The new range includes drives for operation on single-phase (ARS 2100-SE) as well as three-phase (ARS 2300-SE) mains supply. Single phase voltage range is 100-230Vac and three-phase is 230-480Vac. The ARS 2100-SE are available in 2.5, 5 and 8 Amp with up to 32 Amps peak current, the ARS 2300-SE are available in 2.5, 5 and 10 Amp versions with up to 40 Amps peak current.
