Compact servo positioning controller now with 230V AC supply

DIS-2 310V

Metronix has extended its range of servo drives for decentralised applications with the launch of the new DIS-2 310/2 drive that can be powered directly from 230V AC mains.

The drives may be mounted directly on to motors to provide continuous torque of over 2.3Nm, making them an efficient and compact alternative to standard AC and DC motor systems. Decentralised servo drives provide cost savings in design and installation due to their simplified integration. They also save on expensive, screened, multi-core cables and connectors between the motor and drive unit.

The new drive can operate in speed, torque or position loop with a variety of servo motors and encoder systems, using either CANopen (standard), PROFIBUS or EtherCAT fieldbus. It is most suited to setting or occasional axes where motion is intermittent.

Typical examples include backstops, form-setting, adjusters and door entry systems. The DIS-2 310/2 is rated at 2amps continuous, 6amps peak and provides a nominal output power of 325W and over 900W peak (1 sec).
