Seidel 60WKS analogue DC servodrive for brushless servomotors

The, then SEIDEL, 60WKS series is a range of transistor inverters that has been around since 1987. Its performance and reliability surpassed the majority of similar products on the market at the time and positioned Fritz A. Seidel GmbH as a leading supplier of servo drives and motors. Within a few years SEIDEL were selling tens of thousands of the 60WKS drives per year.
The 60WKS was one of the very first brushless servodrives we brought to market here in the UK and it became our go-to product for all manner of applications. Nearly 30 years on we are still supporting customers using the 60WKS drives with off-the-shelf spares, repairs, servicing and technical support.
The 60WKS utilises a brushless tachometer generator and a rotor position sensor (hall) for commutation. The DC intermediate circuits in multi-axes control systems can therefore be coupled in parallel. The drives also have an excellent efficiency factor of up to 98%.

In the mid '90s the 60WKS drive underwent a major upgrade to meet the then new CE regulations and utilising Surface-Mounted-Device technology, but retained full compatibility with the original design.
The rack-mounted design meant that one 84TE-basis-unit (6HE) could accommodate up to 9 off 60WKS drive modules.

Power supply
The 3-phase supply voltage (AC) must be taken from an isolating transformer according to our specifications.
A DC voltage supply from an additional mains supply unit delivered by the company Kollmorgen Seidel is also possible; the internal mains supply can be dispensed with.
