The servo positioning controllers DIS-2 and ARS 2000, from Metronix, both support the EtherCAT fieldbus system, an industrial Ethernet solution offering flexibility, performance and low cost-hardware.

With EtherCAT the telegram handling happens on-the-fly resulting in short cycle times of just a few microseconds. It is possible to use the high-precision synchronisation of the EtherCAT slaves in multi-axis motion control applications, and because of the universal network topology the cost benefit can be significant.
