We are a family owned automation specialist in the disciplines of servo, motion and flow control. We offer one of the widest ranges of servo and motion control products and have been active in the market since 1985. Motor Technology is the UK agent for some of the most well-known and trusted manufacturers from Europe and around the world. Servo drives and motors, direct drive motors, motion controllers, precision planetary and worm gearboxes, precision couplings, incremental and absolute encoders and mechanical actuators form the basis of our product offering and the solutions we offer. We also represent a Japanese pump manufacturer across to whole of Europe.
We believe in offering customers the support they require which can range from simple specification of a single component to designing turn-key motion control systems.
We are looking to fill this position long term and there is a lot of potential for the right candidate to become part of a close knit team and grow with the company.
You would be joining our technical department where you would be expected to take on responsibilities and work load over a number of disciplines such as developing technical solutions (including programming of intelligent drives and motion controllers), testing and commissioning servo and motion control systems, managing the handover of new systems to customers and providing operational support. As a key member of the team you must have good administrative and communication skills, have sound technical knowledge of control, electrical and mechanical aspects of servo and motion control applications and good judgement and a drive for problem solving.
Although not an absolute requirement, you will hold a HNC or higher qualification in an electrical and/or mechanical discipline.
You will have significant experience with servo & motion control systems or experience in an engineering support role.
You will have experience in working in some of the following phases of an engineering project; design, test, programming, installation and commissioning.
You will have a good understanding of the regulatory requirements for the design and build of drive and motion control systems.
You will have previous experience using Microsoft office.
Some experience with CAD and schematic drawing software would be beneficial.
A second language, especially German and/or Italian, would be considered a bonus.
Clean driving licence.
Eager to travel.
